The Lapeer County Health Department was formally organized as the Thumb District Health Department with Tuscola County from 1966 to 1978. On July 1, 1978, we reorganized as a single County Health Department.

Initially, the Health Department was located on Clay street in downtown Lapeer. In the early 1970's, we were moved to the Lyle Stewart Building. Today, we are newly relocated to 1800 Imlay City Road in Lapeer Township.
