The Lapeer County Health Department, along with the Lapeer County Office of Emergency Management, is developing emergency preparedness plans related to bioterrorism. The Health Department is working very closely with the CDC and the Michigan Department of Community Health; to ensure that any plans we develop will follow state and federal agency guidelines.

It is our goal to have the most up to date information upon which to create these emergency plans and protocols. We also feel it is important for members of the public to have access to this information as well. For this reason, we are providing links to the following websites to enable you to access smallpox, anthrax and other bioterrorism information. On these sites you will find answers to frequently asked questions relating to general smallpox and the smallpox vaccine information, anthrax information, as well as information related to several other health issues.

Please feel free to access these sites as often as you need to for updated information.
